Frequently asked questions
How do I play online with a friend?
Open the game's online or "Play a friend" screen and create a room. You'll get a short room code (and a link you can share). Your friend opens the same game, chooses to join, and types the code. Both of you need an internet connection. There's no chat — just the game and a few fun emoji.
The room code doesn't work.
- Check the code letter by letter — codes aren't case-sensitive, but a missing letter matters.
- Make sure you're both in the same game (a ChessQuest code won't open in Carrom Quest).
- Rooms delete themselves when nobody has used them for a while (about an hour in Bonk Buddies, three days in the others). Just make a new room.
- A room is full once all seats are taken; start a new one for more friends.
- Both devices need to be online. If one drops out, reopen the game — you'll get your own seat back.
Can we play without the internet?
Yes. The Android apps work fully offline against the bots (and Adventure, puzzles, lessons, challenges and practice where the game has them). Only online play needs a connection. On the web, add a game to your home screen to keep playing offline.
How do I reset progress?
Open the game's Settings and use the reset button at the bottom (in ChessQuest a grown-up answers a quick question first). Uninstalling the app also removes everything it saved.
Will my progress move to a new phone?
Not at the moment. Because there are no accounts, progress is saved only on the device where it was earned.
How do I turn off sound or vibration?
Each game's Settings has switches for sound, music (where there is music) and vibration.
Are there ads or purchases?
No ads, ever, and no sign-ups. The games are free to play.
What is the "Ask a grown-up" question?
The "More games" page links out of the game (to Google Play and this website), so a grown-up answers a maths question first. It keeps little ones from wandering off by accident.
What data do the games collect?
